Joe Brady’s journey into commercial real estate and community-building began at Villanova University, where he studied electrical engineering and played Division I Varsity soccer.

background

Background

Joe joined Pi Kappa Phi fraternity and, after graduation, spent two years working for the national fraternity, with a focus on their real estate assets across the country. In that work, Joe sparked new connections with alumni and gained experience in business, leading him to pursue his MBA at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Joe worked in real estate development at Burger King Corporation and Hollywood Entertainment, and later founded and served as Managing Director of The Standard Group.

He served for nine years at JLL, as Managing Director, Corporate Retail Solutions; Managing Director and Principal, Solutions Development and Corporate Solutions; and Chairman of Banking Industry Group, Retail Lead and Corporate Solutions.

Career

He continued his career as an executive, serving as The Instant Group’s CEO for the Americas, and Founder of Guinness Advisors, LLC. At Guinness Advisors, Joe advises, writes, and speaks about the rise in consumer primacy within the commercial real estate market.

In 2024, Joe published Work Shop: The consumer-driven transformation of Commercial Real Estate, where he examined the way accelerating technology and shifts in consumer behavior impact the built environment.

In 2017, Joe became Divisional Vice President of Real Estate at Walgreens, leading national real estate operations. All the while, developments in Joe’s family brought new challenges to the forefront, as he learned about mental well-being and the resources available. Joe began raising new questions about how companies can support employees’ well-being systemically, and at all times, not just during moments of turmoil. These questions became a crucial part of Joe’s focus.
